I am an associate attorney at Thomas, Godley & Grimes, PLLC. Originally from Bristol, Virginia, I attended the University of Virginia and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History in May of 2012. After college, I came to Charlotte to attend law school and became licensed to practice law in 2016. Since being licensed, I have gained experience in a variety of areas of the law, including criminal law, special education law, family law and civil litigation.
Although I have always had a passion for advocacy and the law, I found my niche in civil litigation in 2017 when I met a struggling mother of two adoptive boys. Since the successful ending to her case, I have developed a passion, not only for the law in general, but for representing “the underdog” and those who have been taken advantage of by “bigger” entities. My passion extended to the nonprofit world in August 2018 when I co-founded Attach Families, Inc., which is a nonprofit that strives to educate the general public and government agencies about the prevalence of attachment disorders in children, especially foster children, and strives to advocate for the use of specialized treatment by government agencies to actually help these children.
In my free time, I enjoy fostering and volunteering for local animal rescues and traveling around the world with my boyfriend. I am the mother of four wonderful furry children who I enjoy spending time with.
